Frequently asked questions
Permits, ferries, the season, what is included and how we quote. If your question is not here, ask us directly — we answer every one.
When is the best time to visit the Andaman Islands?
October to May is the main season: calmer seas, reliable ferries and the clearest water. June to September is the monsoon — it is greener and quieter, but sailings are disrupted more often, so we build extra flexibility into monsoon itineraries.
Do I need a permit to visit?
Indian nationals do not need a permit for Port Blair, Havelock (Swaroop Dweep) or Neil (Shaheed Dweep). Foreign nationals are issued a Restricted Area Permit on arrival for the permitted islands. Rules change from time to time, so please check the current position before you travel.
How do I get to the Andaman Islands?
By air to Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair, with direct flights from Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Airfare is not included in our land packages — tell us your departure city and we will quote it with your holiday.
Are the prices on this website final?
No. The prices shown are starting rates per person for the stated group size and occupancy. Your final quote is confirmed in writing by our team once we know your dates, group and hotel preference, and it tells you exactly what is and is not included.
Can you customise an itinerary?
Yes. Every package here is a starting point. We change the number of nights, the islands, the hotel category and the sightseeing to suit you — send us an enquiry with what you have in mind.
How do I book with JST Andaman Travels?
Send an enquiry through this website, call us, or message us on WhatsApp. We reply with a written quotation and itinerary. To confirm, pay the 30% advance; we then confirm the hotels and ferries in writing, and the remaining 70% is payable on arrival unless your quotation says otherwise.
Is scuba diving or snorkelling included?
Snorkelling at North Bay and the glass-bottom boat at Bharatpur are the usual optional activities, and scuba diving is available at Havelock and North Bay. These are run by independently licensed operators and are paid on site unless your written quotation says otherwise.
How much luggage can I take on the inter-island ferry?
Private ferry operators generally allow one check-in bag and one cabin bag per passenger, with an excess charge beyond that. The exact allowance is set by the operator and we confirm it with your ferry tickets.
